Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the BuD app. By creating an account or using BuD you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who can use BuD

You must be at least 18 years old. By using BuD you confirm that you are 18 or over. We may close any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone under 18.

2. What BuD is

BuD lets you check in at a venue, see others who are also checked in there tonight, and send a one-way “wink”. If two people wink at each other they match for one hour and can see each other's photos during that window. There is no chat and no direct messaging: any conversation happens in person. Tonight's activity is cleared when the night ends.

3. Your account

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep access to your phone secure: anyone who can receive your code can access your account. You are responsible for what you add, including your name, photos and any text. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use BuD to harass, threaten, impersonate or endanger anyone. Do not upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or that infringes someone else's rights. Do not try to identify, track or contact other users outside the app without their consent. Only add real, public venues. We can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules or are reported for unsafe behaviour.

5. Content you share

You keep ownership of your photos and text. You give us a limited licence to store and display them to other users in the ways described in the Privacy Policy, only to run the service. You are responsible for having the right to share what you upload.

6. Safety

BuD shows you who is around, but meeting anyone in person is your decision and at your own risk. We do not run background checks on users. Stay in public places, follow the in-app safety guidance and trust your instincts. You can block and report anyone in the app.

7. Availability and changes

BuD is provided “as is”. We may change, pause or end features at any time. If we make material changes to these terms we will tell you in the app before they take effect.

8. Liability

We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where the law requires it. Otherwise our liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service, and we are not responsible for the conduct of other users or for what happens during an in-person meeting. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

9. Governing law

German law applies, except that mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain in force.
